- Q.
Let's start at the
beginning. What is a Virtual Assistant?
- A Virtual Assistant is an independent business person who creates a
unique partnership with her clients. This partnership is a way of providing
administrative support to entrepreneurs, consultants and/or small business owners,
virtually .... at a distance.
-
- Q. Where do les diVAs
fit into this picture?
- les diVAs are highly skilled Virtual Assistants with a wealth of
experience. We can support you with nearly any administrative task that needs to be
done. And, because distractions and interruptions are limited, we're often able to
do these more efficiently.
-
- Q. How do we do
business together when we're in two different
locations?
- The world of technology offers numerous ways for us to communicate,
share documents and brainstorm across time and space, regardless of geographic location.
With telephones, faxes, e-mail, we are able to stay in touch without being limited
to "normal" business hours.
-
- Q. What if I need
expertise that my diVA doesn't have?
- Just ask. One common diVA characteristic is the ability and
willingness to think and perform outside the box. If a diVA needs to learn a new
skill to meet a client's needs, she'll do that. Or, she'll find someone who does
have those skills
-
- Q. What particular
skills/expertise/equipment do I need to work
successfully with a diVA?
- It's helpful if you're comfortable with PCs,
e-mail, faxes and technology in general. You also need to communicate well and be
open to new ideas and new approaches to solving problems AND have a clear idea of your
goals. You also have to be willing to delegate.
-
- Q. What are the
advantages of partnering with one of the "diVAs"?
- Experience ... Each diVA has
many years of experience in the corporate world. Now, by choice, each is an
independent business woman who uses those skills to assist her clients.
Personal Attention ... We realize that each client has different needs
and expectations for his/her business. We work closely with each client to
understand and meet those needs.
Initiative ... diVAs learn to anticipate their client's needs and also
seek out new ways to help them grow their business.
Team Coverage ... Although you will be working primarily with one
diVA,
the other diVAs will be available if your diVA is on vacation or needs additional help to
complete a large project.
-
- Q. Ok, I can see that
a diVA could really help me, but ... let's talk nuts and
bolts here ... how much do
you charge?
- As independent business owners, each diVA sets
her own rates. You can expect the hourly rate to be slightly more than you'd pay an
"in house" employee, but just think ... you're only paying for billable time and
expenses for your projects. You're not paying for payroll taxes, health insurance,
office space and equipment.
In addition to hourly rates, each diVA offers a retainer rate based on a certain number of
billable hours per month. Just ask for details.
